Tampa is home. And when your hometown grows, you want the care in your backyard to grow right alongside it.
That’s why the Jenkins Charitable Foundation is proud to support Tampa General Hospital Foundation in creating a new hybrid operating room at Tampa General Hospital’s Davis Islands campus—an advanced space designed specifically for highly complex vascular surgeries.
So… what’s a “hybrid” operating room?
In simple terms, it’s the best of both worlds: a state-of-the-art surgical environment combined with the advanced imaging capabilities you’d typically find in an interventional suite. That combination helps clinical teams make faster, more precise decisions during complex procedures—without moving patients between rooms.
Why this matters
This project is about bringing cutting-edge care to patients sooner—and helping ensure our community has the tools to attract and support top-tier clinicians, researchers, and innovators.
The space will be named the Jenkins Family Hybrid Operating Room, and it will be the second hybrid OR at Tampa General, with more planned as part of the Taneja Surgical, Neuroscience & Transplant Tower currently under construction.
For our family, this gift also honors a deep respect for science and technology—and a Tampa story that spans five generations.
